Non-Religious Wedding Ceremony Music

I have seen many types of Non-Religious Ceremonies where couples use a mix of prose, readings, rituals and music to create a Ceremony that reflects their beliefs and unique style.

Music Walkthrough with a Harp Quartet

A fabulous way to put your own personal stamp on your wedding Ceremony is to use a unique musical collaboration. One of my favorite unique collaborations is the harp, flute, oboe and double bass. Additionally, my flute player also plays the clarinet, which really allows for a variety of styles. This wonderful quartet not only does a beautiful job on the traditional classical pieces, but also has the ability to make the music really swing when playing jazz standards and pop tunes!

For this musical walk through I have included all of your very traditional pieces, as well as some Jazz Standards and some lesser-heard classical pieces.

Processional for Bridesmaid:

Sheep May Safely Graze - J. S. Bach (flute, harp, bass; oboe)
Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring - J. S. Bach (clarinet, harp, bass; oboe)

Processional Music for the Bride:

The Bridal Chorus - Richard Wagner (flute, harp, bass; oboe)

Trumpet Voluntary - Jeremiah Clarke (flute, harp, bass; oboe)

Music for Candle lighting Ceremony or a Moment of Reflection:

All I Ask of You – Andrew Lloyd Webber
Sous le dome epais - Leo Delibes

Recessional Music for the Bride and Groom:

For the Recessional music the harp quartet can certainly play the traditional Wedding March. Additionally, below are two wonderful pieces of classical music that can add a personal touch to your ceremony.

(A fun way to personalize the music for your wedding is to weave the time of year into the ceremony. If you are getting married during the spring, a great way to end your ceremony is with the composition “Spring” by Antonio Vivaldi.)

Spring (The Four Seasons) - Antonio Vivaldi (flute, harp, bass; oboe)
Allegro (Water Music) - George Frideric Handel (clarinet, harp, bass; oboe)

Music for Cocktail Hour:

Blue Danube – Johann Strauss
Cheek to Cheek – Irving Berlin
Medley from Fantastiks – Jones/Schmidt

Musical Walkthrough with Flute Trio

A flute trio consists of a flute, cello and violin.

Processional for Bridesmaid:

J. S. Bach was the supreme composer of the Baroque period. He wrote over 200 pieces of music for church services, which is why you hear his music performed so often at wedding.

Sheep May Safely Graze – J. S. Bach
Canon in D - Jahann Pachelbel
Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring - J.S. Bach

Processional Music for the Bride:

Rondeau – Jean-Joseph Mouret
Trumpet Voluntary - Jeremiah Clarke
Bridal Chorus – Richard Wagner

Recessional Music for the Bride and the Groom:

Wedding March – Felix Mendelssohn
Allegro (Water Music) - George Frideric Handel

Cocktail Hour Music:

Waltz – Johann Strauss
